Folding Wooden Trestle

The folding wooden trestle is an assembly of timber sections reminiscent of the carpenters ‘saw horse’. However in this interpretation, bolts connecting the legs to the horizontal beams of the structure allow the 4 legs to each rotate through 100 degrees and align together with the beams to produce a compact bundle of parts more suited for transportation or storage. The inspiration for this piece arose from the realisation that the splay of the trestle legs could be generated by angling the face of the horizontal beam against which it rotates.
