Table With Crossed Legs
Veneered MDF, clear lacquer

The components of this table have all been cut from the same piece of 18mm veneered MDF by a computer controlled laser, and then lacquered and presented in the sheet from which they were cut, ready for assembly. Eight flat cut-outs are slotted together to make four cruciform legs, the tops of which are then inserted into cross shaped holes in the corners of the tabletop and braced by the rectangular apron fixed to the underside. The skeleton frame and black charred edges left by the precision laser cutting process both become an integral part of this design for a table fabricated from only one single material and by one production process.
