I was approached by some architects who were interested in using my earlier wooden trestles as part of an exhibition display. However, as they were hoping to use loose planks as the table surface rather than one single sheet, it was necessary to propose a different version as the previous trestle relied on the top to span across the separate points of support at either end.

Going back to the carpenters' 'saw-horse' once more as inspiration, the revised trestle offers a continuous top rail which provides support along its length & can therefore be used to hold different widths of surface.

In keeping with the spirit of trestles being well suited to occasional use, the two pairs of legs are fixed to the top rail using only four screws, allowing them to be dismantled quickly for storage as a bundle of sticks. Alternatively, when nested together, the trestles take up relatively little space.
