Camden Arts Centre, London NW3
Architectural assistant for Tony Fretton Architects
Extensive refurbishment & extension, re-opened 2004
Camden Arts Centre is a publicly funded arts organisation which occupies a Grade II listed Victorian building in North London.
Proposals entailed comprehensive reconfiguration & refurbishment to the building, providing new level access entrance, reception area, bookshop & extension housing a cafe at ground floor level. Internally, the circulation was rearranged to suit the new point of entry, with the first floor galleries upgraded including improved climate control & rooflights, whilst retaining their original varied characters. As well as working on the fabric of the building, I was also responsible for both fitted & loose furniture contracts of the scheme.
